Blackpool 125th Celebrations


Blackpool celebrated 125 years of trams with a selection of special events.



765 ran on crew training duties on several days in August, seen here on the 26th.



Blackpool & Fleetwood Rack 2 was joined by B & F Box 40 and Manchester 765 for a tour on Sunday 12th September.



765 and Box 40 used to run together at Heaton Park.



765 on the Golden Mile.



Vintage trams provided a service between Pleasure Beach and Bispham on Saturday 25th September. Marton Box 31 is on loan from Beamish and was repainted specially for the event.



Box 40 was also in service.



Stockport 5 came out in the afternoon, as did...



...Sheffield 513.



In service on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th was
Blackpool Standard 147.



Returning to service after a lengthy overhaul was Boat 600.



Liverpool 762, on loan from Birkenhead Tramway,
ran in service on the Sunday.



Completing the line up on the Sunday was Manchester 765.



765 operated between Bispham and Depot.



Unavailable for service, Blackpool Standard 143 and Pantograph 167 were on display at the Depot Open Day.



Oporto 273 was also on display.



Bolton 66 waited patiently at North Pier for it's turn in service.



A procession was held on Wednesday 29th September, featuring Rack 2, Box 40, Marton 31, Standard147, Boat 600, open top Balloon 706, Coronation 660 and OMO 8.
